About ISKME's OER and Arts Education as Social Justice Project

The ArtsCollab is part of ISKME's efforts to connect social collaboration and knowledge sharing with the use of and awareness of Open Educational Resources (OER). We are working to identify collaborative and technical skills and behaviors that deepen engagement with curricular resources, media, and tools, through sharing with peers and communities, in this case, in the arts. Our project in this area, "Field Building in the Arts and Social Justice: Engaging Teachers, Learners, and Practitioners in the Collaborative Development and Use of Open Educational Resources", launched in 2009, involves the development of practitioner professional development workshops, research-based training model, and partner networking around advancing arts integration with the use of OER, supported by the Ford Foundation's Knowledge, Creativity, and Freedom Program.MORE
